Summary
The Reporting and Business Intelligence Lead’s role is to manage a team of employees and consultants in the development and support of management reporting and end user computing solutions.The role will be responsible for transforming the organizations current Global Reporting Platform (GRP) into a more dynamic and end user enabled business intelligence suite, balancing strategy, team management, problem solving and hands-on development.The position will have close interaction with global actuaries, finance and underwriters, and will report to the Vice President and Director of Information Technology.
Duties & Responsibilities
·Manage a team of employees and consultant resources.
·Assess current reporting solutions and develop a multi-year strategy to deliver most effective reporting and management information solutions.
·Transform the strategy into an operational plan and manage that plan based on business priorities, delivery commitments and budgets.
·Partner with the enterprise data architect to ensure definition of and adherence to an enterprise data model and data standards.
·Work with business resources to drive detailed requirements that support value added solutions.
·Partner with other application development and infrastructure teams to manage integration points, interdependencies, priorities and delivery schedules.
·Provide mentoring and coaching of team members.
·Participate in development of database designs, operational reports, end user computing tools.
·Provide complex reporting problem support to end users.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
·Over ten years of software development experience with at least five years managing teams responsible for delivery of business intelligence, reporting and end user computing applications.
·College or university degree in field of computer science preferred.
·Experience managing and developing IT teams with varied priorities across multiple locations.
·Experience in establishing application, database and delivery strategies for reporting.
·Understanding of database design, data modeling, ETL and reporting tools.
·Proficiency in SQL and the overall Microsoft database and reporting platforms.
·Good written and oral communication skills.
·Strong technical documentation skills.
·Good interpersonal skills.
·Highly self motivated and directed.
·Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
·Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
·Strong customer service orientation.
