Duties include overall responsibility and technical leadership for metallic projects to include mechanical or bonded parts and assemblies. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining accurate processes for a variety of aerospace and commercial products. Performs support functions with respect to established policies, procedures and methods, recommending changes to improve product quality, reduce costs, improve product flow lines. Must have experience with aerospace companies such as P&W, G.E., Sikorsky and the United States Government.
Overall responsibility to direct engineering projects in the design, manufacturing and quality of high precision components for the aerospace and commercial industry.
Responsibilities include program management of metal and composite product lines, directing the development, evaluation, manufacturing and quality in accordance with customer specifications, purchase order and drawing requirements while operating in an AS9100 / ISO 9000 environment.
Maintains accurate and up to date manufacturing paper (Eg.: Operation Sheets, BOM's etc.) for the production floor to manufacture end item products to meet customer delivery requirements.
Aid and help coordinate the activities of the engineering staff assigned.
Ensures appropriate communication and interaction with production floor personnel in order that technical issues are addressed in a timely and complete manner. Supports non-conformance system for engineering disposition and root cause analysis and corrective action.
Supports manufacturing supervisors and/or lead-hands on correct manufacturing methods.
Assists tool room, when needed, on new tool and design fabrication and rework techniques.
Ensures new tooling is designed and fabricated on time to produce product and meet customer delivery requirements.
Confirms that root cause analyses and corrective action has eliminated source of failure.
Assists estimating department with quoting of complex processes and tooling.
Verifies that all COMPANY policies and procedures have been adhered to.
Conducts a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product lines. Prepares new equipment requests with justifications.
Provides technical support to sales and marketing team.
Works to expand COMPANY¡¦s market share in aerospace product, through a variety of means such as customer technical presentations and technical calls.
Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if the capacity and capability is available to meet customer requirements and benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
